WRITING ABOUT LOVE IN UNUSUAL PLACES.

j

It is as cold as anything here, so I have been thinking about holidays in the sun.  I was wondering, who thinks making love on the beach is a good idea.  From the reading and writing point of view, it makes for a good scene.  I was kind of thinking about the movie From Here to Eternity and the famous love scene with Burt Lancaster & Deborah Kerr, in the surf.  It is the classic metaphor for making love in old movies, waves crashing on the shore.

I had been thinking about a beach love scene for a story.  I was on holiday with a group of girls, I had stayed friendly with from school.  I struck a romance with this waiter, corny right?  But true, he had dark hair, beautiful blue eyes, and was friendly.  He was really cute, so I agreed to a trip around the island with him.  We parked and walked along the beach; it was sweet in a romantic way.  I was between boyfriends at the time so when we started kissing it felt right.

The beach was deserted, and I thought I might never get this kind of chance again, so I let it go further.  We got out of our bathing suits, leaving it up the beach, and headed into the surf.  I have never skinny-dipped before, and it was immensely liberating.  I loved it!  We were just kissing and fooling around.  It started out playful; he picked me up and threw me into the ocean. I swam underwater, wrapped my arms around his legs, and tugged him under with me. We both came out of the water laughing. Then he took me into his arms and gave me soft, sweet kisses. I felt butterflies in my tummy. He took my hand, led me to the shore, lay me on the sand, and his kisses became passionate. My heart raced, and my body heated with his touches. The waves began to rush in around us, and I felt the sand massage my body. When we had finished, we went into the sea for a swim.

When we came to the shore, I was aware of two things, I was very tender with the sand chafing, and as I looked up at the shore, there was an old couple that had been watching the whole show.  Embarrassed doesn’t begin to describe it.  There was the walk back up the beach to get our clothes and the shameless old people did not look away.  There was another thing I remember, was the saltwater and sand in my hair took ages to get clean, and the sand!  Don’t get me started on the sand, it gets everywhere!  Still, it was one off the bucket list.  Lol

I am curious to hear if you tried it yourselves that is if you’d like to share.  Maybe you had a better experience than me.  Did it work out? Or was it just uncomfortable?  If you have written or read a really hot scene.  Does it make sense to have a beach love scene with the waves crashing in?  What was the reader’s reaction to the scene?

I want you to feel you can comment and share stuff, either here in the blog section of the website.  You can leave comments on the BVS Facebook page.  You can leave comments on my Facebook page.  We have a twitter page too and we are always happy to follow people that follow us.  I don’t shock easily, but if I could ask any men not to send pics of their junk.  It is not big or clever.  The pics don’t shock or impress me, and I will unfriend you.
