Well, like most of us I could live without a computer. But does it really have to be so bloody difficult? I have a love-hate relationship with my computer and with technology in general. For Sci-Fi nerds and Trekkies, there is a scene from “First Contact,” with Warf beating up on the control panels. I can so relate.
I have a tablet form in which I listen to BVS scripts; I am forever shouting at it. It feels personal sometimes as if the technology is laughing at me.
Does anyone else have the same feeling about their technology? Hitting the wrong key and all your work disappears, or computer crashing at the wrong moment and losing thousands of words? Or your favorite website goes down in the middle of research or loading a blog post? Or you ISP crashing for no apparent reason. Or maybe your website gets hacked. Which incidentally happened while working on this post. As I type this, MS Word is flickering all over the place. I have the feeling, that for what I pay, it should just work. Or maybe that is just me?
I would like to hear your views on all of this; please feel free to vent.
Mac v PC? Would love to hear from both when it comes to the pros and cons of writing.
I would love to hear if you have any thoughts, views, and stories you might like to share, on the blog, Facebook or Twitter.
