DO YOU LIVE OUT YOUR FANTASY LIFE THROUGH YOUR CHARACTERS?

As I have said previously, we are attached to our characters.  To an extent they are a part of us, allowing us to explore ourselves through our writing.  The joyous side, the naughty side, and indeed our darker side.  Do you live out your fantasy life through your characters?  How far dare we go into the dark corners of your psyche?

Have you ever been asked where some of the elements of the stories come from?  And have you been too embarrassed to tell them?  I have written and had published 6 stories, most with a D/s theme.  I have been asked several times where the ideas come from.  The truth is I know a lot of people in that lifestyle, who live their day to day lives as Master and submissive.  These good people have been kind enough to share stories of their lives with me.  The media in TV and film often portrays these people as freaks and criminals.  I have never found that.  I have found that most that live that lifestyle are caring and sensitive people, and I have always wanted to portray this in my stories.  Where the truth and fiction get a little more blurred in my story is where, I have listened to those stories told to me and fictionalize them, weaving them into scenarios for readers.  So the question where do the stories come from is not quite as easy as to say, that I am basing my ideas on things said to me.  For us to be writers we have to get inside our characters, and see things through their eyes, empathize with their feelings, and so we give our characters some of our personalities.  So even in the wildest written scenes, there is an element of us in there.  The big question is in an interview, how much of that would you confess?

I love chatting with writers and would love to hear your thoughts.  If this has sparked anything you would like to share and would like to chat about it, in a blog, I would love to interview you.

On a more general note, I would love to hear your views, thoughts, and stories you might like to share, on the blogFacebook or Twitter.
