No, I am not thinking of buying a house. What is the strangest place you have ever made out? Anything from heavy petting to full-on sex. This line of thinking was brought about by a message I received the other day from a reader. She wrote and told me that she had read a sex scene in a book and it really worked for her. It involved risk-taking and the scene took place in a public bathroom in an art gallery. The lady wrote, “This was from a book I read ages ago, but the idea has stuck with me. The scene was hot, so dangerous. Maybe it was so hot because it was so dangerous? This couple sneaked into the bathroom and had really passionate sex. It was rough quick sex. I loved the way it was written really well, just so very erotic.”
She went on to say, “For ages, I wanted to act out the fantasy. I had tried fantasizing about it while we were making love, but it really wasn’t the same. I talked to my husband and offered to try to make real fantasy of his if he would try to make my fantasy come real. He is not overly imaginative he wanted a BJ in the woods, which was not a difficult fantasy to make real. He was very nervous about trying mine, he is an accountant and really doesn’t like risk. He was scared that we would get caught, which I can understand, but that was the excitement of doing it. I said we could go to a city where nobody knew us and he agreed. When on a breakaway we found this big gallery and decided to try. We argued for a moment as to going into the lady’s or men’s restroom, deciding on the lady’s. Their restrooms on the top floor which was surprisingly empty, but it was a Monday morning. The reality was nothing like the story. Firstly there was a smell I found very off-putting. I had worn a skirt to make it easy access my panties were in my bag. The sex was quick, and not as I had imagined it would be. We cleaned up quickly and left. To our embarrassment, there was an old lady outside waiting to go in. The big downside was being wet and sticky all day until we could get back to the hotel. It was not a great experience but it was exciting and I love my husband for trying it.”
That is the problem, does the fantasy measure up to reality. Are some scenes we read in romance novels or fantasies we envisioned on our own, best left as fantasies? Or is it still worth giving it a try?
Is there a scene in a book you have thought about trying out? Have you tried something wild? Have you written a scene that you wanted to try?
