TAKING A FIRM HAND

I had a random message from a reader on Facebook asking me on the subject of spanking.  The question was “Is it kinky to enjoy a spanking during sex?” on the strength of that you might say it was a bit kinky, but aren’t all things a bit kinky when you think of it?   The smell of leather?  The smell of a new car?  The look of a good pair of shoes? The feel of the soft or silky fabric?  Don’t they all tap into our kinky side?  Or is that just me?

I think like all things it is a part of the sliding scale of kink.  And if you enjoy a spank during sex, or at any other time for that matter, what is wrong with that?  The question that interests me more is what is it about a spank that they enjoy.  If you are of the generation that was spanked as kids, it was not something that was craved.  Or was it? Is it that physical contact, excitement, fear or thrill as a child that they crave as an adult?  Is it the endorphins released during a spanking that enhance the sex?  Maybe it is the physical rhythm on and through the flesh of the bottom that somehow ripples through the pelvic region?  Or indeed maybe it is a mix of all of the above in a subtle mix unique to the individual?

To clarify I am not talking about domestic violence.

A lot of early erotic photographs contain scenes of spanking, surely this is no coincidence?

A lot of questions, as I have no answers.  All that seems true is that some people enjoy the feeling of being spanked and I see nothing wrong with that as long as everything is consensual.  And kinky?  Well if we enjoy it does it matter?  Surly kinky is the label other people put on the activities we enjoy that others do not understand.  On a writer’s and reader’s note a good spanking scene should have in it both the spank and their reaction to the spank, there is a lot of emotional mileage in this act.

I would like to thank the reader for posing the question and invite you to respond. I would love to hear your stories’ thoughts, experience or any views you might like to share.  On here, the blogFacebook or Twitter
