Father’s Day thoughts for you. These days it is rather bittersweet for me, we mark the day, but it is slightly different when we lose a parent. I think in a funny way it is more important to mark the day. As much as we don’t mean to I think we can take our parents for granted, they are there, like the weather, and we assume they will always be there with us. We don’t notice their age; we don’t notice their frailties. I know this doesn’t sound upbeat on first reading, but read again and you will see that it is. This is a time to make the most of your father, spend time with him, pamper him, treat him to a gift you know he will love, be hopelessly sentimental and tell him how much he means to you, see him for the man he is. Take joy in this day, even if you no longer have your father physically with you, he will always be in your heart.
How will you be celebrating Father’s Day? Tell me all about it, I would love to hear.
A song I think is relevant to me
