I was chatting online with a writer friend last night. She was telling me about a gay pride event she was going to over this weekend. As she described the event she said she was going to, I found myself wishing I was going too. This celebration is held every year for the whole of June and is known as the Mother of Pride. Brenda Howard coordinated the first LGBT Pride march. As well as sparking the idea for a week of events around Pride Day. These events have developed into the annual LGBT event. And similar events happen in most enlightened countries. Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month (LGBT Pride Month) is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan. The Stonewall riots were a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States.
I went to an event in London’s Soho a few years back with some friends. I don’t normally feel comfortable in big crowds of people, but I remember it as a great event with great affection. It was friendly and very welcoming and very inclusive. Gay or straight, everyone seemed to feel comfortable; it was a great atmosphere.
While thinking of the event I had been to and listening to my friend last night, I could not help but feel that the world would be a better place if they worried less about other peoples’ sexual proclivities.
Our art director Jessica recovered one of our older books. It is a hot design much better than the old cover. It is a story of two ladies looking for love, it is highly erotic and a little kinky, but I really like this story.
The Love She Wants by Mila Winters
Have you ever wanted to go to a pride event? If you haven’t gone and wanted to, what has stopped you? If you have been to a Pride event, what was your experience? I hope it was as positive as my time there.
