ALL READY FOR THE WEEKEND?

f

Are you the kind of person that works on weekends? Or do you think of writing like a 9 to 5 Monday to Friday, kind of thing?  I have always been a bit work-obsessed and find it hard to separate work time, from chill time.  I find getting the balance between work and home, quite challenging sometimes.  This weekend I have a pile of scripts to review and some promotional work. I love my job so it doesn’t feel like work at all, and it is totally my choice to work the way I do.  Especially with my writing, I work odd hours.  I think of something and have to get it down.  I keep my iPad by my bed and jot down notes, during the night. If I can’t get it out of my head I have been known to get up in the night and keep writing. That has caused problems with relationships, but as a creative person, you have to work when the muse takes you. Or at least that is how it is with me.

Does your partner understand you as a creative person? Some of my partners in the past have walked away because they didn’t understand my creativity.  It saddened me to see them go, but I was not going to compromise the way I work.

I was wondering if you were feeling the same way about your work? Or maybe you structure your working time differently keeping more regular hours? And have a better work-home balance.
