Hump day and I am in the mood to chat I have immersed myself in scripts this week, read one that I will recommend we publish, more on that in another blog.
The thing I wanted to chat about is a writing style. A trend I have noticed is we seem to be getting more scripts coming in, written in the first person. What are your thoughts on this? Do you like stories written in third or first-person? Does it matter? Does it just come down to the quality of the writing? From my writing perspective, I feel more comfortable writing in the third person, I always have. As a reader, I am less bothered about whether it is written in the first or third person, for me, it is all about the story. When I am reading BVS scripts, I think text written in the first person can show up the flaws in the writing a lot quicker, but that might just be me? What do you think? Why do you choose to write in the first or third person? As a reader do you have a preference?
I’d love to hear your comments here on the blog, the BVS Facebook page, or my Facebook page. We have a twitter page too and we are always happy to follow people that follow us.
