ARE MEN FROM MARS AND WOMEN FROM VENUS? – Black Velvet Seductions

I love my job. Ric and the team make it a great job to do. It has been an interesting week at BVS, as a new book is out, Perilous Love by Jan Selbourne.

Along with that work, I have been reading scripts too. It strikes me that men and women writers see the build-up to sex scenes very differently. I had two scripts to read from men and three from lady authors. I am not saying that men can’t write a good romance. I have read a lot that can write a great romance. I am just talking about the five scripts I read this week. The contrast in the build-up and the sex scenes were different between the gender of the authors. With the women, stories were all about feelings, a slow sensual build-up to the action. It read like a flirtatious dance between the characters. And after the sex, there was an emphasis on the feelings again. By contrast, neither of the men was subtle; it was more of a hide the sausage contest. How many times they could have sex and I’ll be honest it got rather boring after a while. It was like watching a dirty movie, there were set pieces, and you knew what was coming next. Pun intended. So you can guess which of the scripts get my recommendation.
