A serious question. I am thinking of book covers, but I guess the question works in general too. For book covers, we do use a lot of images with men’s abs; there is no way of getting around it. Male abdominal muscles do seem popular. But what is it that makes them HOT! Is it that so few men in real life have them? So it is an idealized body shape? I know when we do covers with female abs we run into problems promoting them on Facebook. And that begs a question why is it ok to show a male torso but not a female?
I know with erotic art you can make a picture more erotic by showing less, the hint of something seems sexier, don’t you think? I think it is the naughty factor, the wanting to see, yet not quite being able to? I would love to hear your views on that.
But if we are breaking a person into body parts, what parts do you find sexy? I guess there are the usual parts, in both male and female, tight abs, boobs, and asses. But what other body parts work for you, and do you use them in your writing. I have a friend the really likes the look of a strong male forearm. And I have seen the expression of tight calf muscles described when a woman walks in high heels. So what works for you? How would you use the description in writing?
If you could change a body part which would you change?
I would love to hear your views, thoughts, and stories you might like to share, on the blog, Facebook or Twitter.
