Ok, a bit of a personal blog. I did wonder whether to or not, but thinking about it yesterday I thought why not. Without going into medical stuff, mostly because it is pretty boring, I have been walking with a stick for the last few days. It has been a bit of a chore but it has not affected my work at BVS and I try to take the positives where I can get them. The positives have had some extra time to read scripts, something that always needs doing. I read for pleasure too and have been reading Richard Branson’s second autobiography, “Finding my Virginity”, a truly cracking read. I have also had a bit of time to reflect, always a good thing. One of the things that I am truly grateful for is the number of friends that I have around me, helping me, wanting the best for me. If someone’s wealth is judged by the quality and reliability of your friends, I am rich indeed. Haha… Must try running that one past the accountant.
I would like to thank all around me for their unwavering support. While I am thinking of the weekend and the fact I have been walking with a stick. I thought I’d tell you something that happened on Saturday night. It was about 7 pm I was settled behind the PC in my office, working on a few things for a book due out shortly. There was a knock on the studio door, which is about 10 yards or so from my desk. I grumbled a bit, as I was nicely settled, but got up to open the door. I was greeted by an old friend Chris, who said “hi, mate. I hear you have a bit of a limp” he smiled and continued, “I have brought you a little prezzie” and handed me a Viagra tablet. Not the best gag in the world, but heartfelt. Another example of friends going out of their way for you. And there is no price tag on a smile. You also never know when a little blue pill might come in useful.
