IS THERE A WRONG WAY OF READING?

Audiobooks are a subject close to my heart, but I know it can be a contentious topic.  I had a discussion of Facebook where a couple of authors said: “but it isn’t reading a book properly”.  I had another discussion with a friend on the subject of Game of Thrones, we had both read the books.  He made the comment that he had found them a difficult read.  I had said that I enjoyed the books.  He added that it was probably easier as all I had to do was listen.  This struck me as elitism and discriminatory.  I am dyslexic and although I read, my reading is slow.  So I restrict that kind of reading to instruction manuals and holiday reading.  The second thing is I am busy, we receive about twenty to thirty scripts a week, as well as my personal reading, the only way I can read the scripts I do is via audio.  Audio also allows me to read on the go I can be doing other tasks and still read.

Enough angst from me and some really plus sides of audiobooks, there is the multitasking factor which is good, you also get top actors reading them, so there is a real entertainment value to them and my favorite reason, what could be better than a lady’s sexy voice reading you some juicy erotica?

If you haven’t tried it you ought to give it a go.

As always I would love to hear your thoughts and comments on the blogFacebook, or twitter
