HOT! OR TACKY AND SEXIEST?

I was watching a Gerard Butler movie the other day The Ugly Truth; it is very funny, I highly recommend it. The premise, in a nutshell, it is a comedy that looks at how men and women look at sex and relationships. And it deals with the subject of social manipulation, with the object of getting each other into bed.  There is a scene at a basketball game where it is suggested to the heroine that eating a hot dog in a suggestive way would be a turn on for the man.  Having watched that movie, I began to notice all kinds of examples of that in other movies. A scene in the Steve McQueen film, The Thomas Crown Affair, a suggestive scene with the heroine playing a chess piece on her lips.  You also see it in advertising, a lollypop, finger, or banana, usually shown in combination with a lady’s open mouth.  Funny the advertised don’t really do the same with male actors, or maybe they do, and I have just never seen them.  So the question remains is this imagery hot? Or tacky and manipulative? How do you feel about this kind of image? Is it just a laugh? Or do you find it sexist?
