EMBARRASSED BY THE COVER? – Black Velvet Seductions

Have you ever been reading in public and felt embarrassed by the cover of the book? It happened to me a while back. I was reading Fifty Shades of Grey. I had found a nice quiet spot in the park. I was sitting on the grass in the sunshine, reading my book. I was lost in the story when I heard a noise. It was a bloke walking his dog; he had just stopped and was staring at me with that, I know what you are reading, look on his face. The incident made me think before reading a book in public for a while. I considered covering the book up, you know like you used to cover your books with colored paper when you were at school? But then I thought what the heck, it is my book, and I can read it where I please. It is not the same as a tablet or reading on your phone. I love paperbacks and I actually get a bit of a buzz from reading a book with a racy cover in public now. I am not trying to shock as such, but it feels a bit naughty.

Have you ever experienced this? Would you care if you were caught? Has the advent of the tablet just removed this issue completely?
