author interviews

I thought I would post today about a few of the things coming up in the next couple of weeks here on the blog.

Cari Silverwood will be visiting us tomorrow. Her steamy new book 31 Flavors is out now and receiving rave reviews. You’ll definitely want to be here when Cari comes to tell us about it. She has a hot excerpt to share too. You won’t want to miss it.

On Friday we’ll have Cara Bristol. If you like erotic romance and stories in which domestic discipline features prominently you’ll want to check Cara out. She’s the author of Intimate Submission and Secret Desires both published by Black Velvet Seductions and available either individually (for .99 in Kindle format) or combined with stories by authors Richard Savage and Starla Kaye in the domestic discipline anthology Spanked! Cara has written two other books for Loose ID — Her domestic discipline novella Unexpected Consequences and her most recent release a cougar romance entitled Reckless In Moonlight. Cara will be guest blogging about reviews. Check out Cara’s books, bring your questions and comments. Bring your opinions. Cara has some questions and really wants responses from readers.

Next week we’ll have Starla Kaye visiting us on Monday the 20th of February. Her topic is yet to be determined.

On Friday the 24th Margie Church will be back to talk to us about her most recent release Razor, a BDSM romance.

On Sunday the 26th I’ll have an interview with Kristine Cayne the author of Deadly Obsession.

In between the special events, guest authors, and interviews I will be posting other blogs and adding new books to the Books You Can Win List. There will be something new most every day and you won’t want to miss any of it.

Thanks to those who responded to my post about looking forward to adding new stuff to the blog in 2012. Several of you mentioned that you enjoyed the guest authors we’ve had in 2011 and would like to see more author interviews in 2012.

Author interviews are fun to do and fun to read so I will definitely add some to our 2012 schedule.

But as I am doing that I’d like to ask a few questions about author interviews and get your feedback so that I can incorporate your likes, dislikes, and interests into the 2012 author interviews.

First of all…if there are specific authors you’d like to see interviewed please leave their names – or a list of their names – in the comments section. I can’t promise every author who is offered an interview will agree to be interviewed but I will do my best to track down and contact those authors that you suggest and offer them the opportunity to be interviewed.

Second, I’d like to know what kinds of questions you like to see authors answer in the interviews they do. Are there certain questions you are always eager to see answered? Are there some questions you’d like to see asked that almost never are? Are there questions you’re not interested in at all? I’d love to hear your feedback on what you like and don’t like as well in the author interviews that you read. What, in your opinion, makes a really good author interview?

Here’s your calendar of events for February 2, 2011. I hope you enjoy the contests, blogs, interviews, and other goodies. :-)

Events For Authors:

There is still time to register for the Dunes & Dreams Romance Writers Of America Chapter’s March 2011 workshop on wardrobes, weapons, warblings, and words for historical romance writers. Beth Daniels aka Beth Henderson is teaching the workshop.

To get the right feel in a historical novel, it’s all about the stage setting, looking right, sounding right, and having the right “water cooler” chit chat for the people who traipse through your historical landscape. Can you trust what you’ve read elsewhere? Maybe, maybe not. So how do you decide what you need beyond the plot? And where do you go to find it?

Those are exactly the questions that this workshop addresses.

For more information on this workshop check out http://www.dunesanddreams.org/writing-workshops

There is still time to enter the first 35 pages of your novel in Passionate Ink’s Sixth Annual Stroke of Midnight Contest.
