Welcome to the Black Velvet Seductions Blog. We’re pleased to be participating in the Alpha Male Blog Hop October 19, 20, 21, and 22. We’ll be giving away a prize or two each day to people who comment each day. For the daily prize I have some lace bookmarks, some Black Velvet Seductions books and ebooks, and some winners’ choices from my pre-read book shelf. Tuesday after the blog hop I will be choosing three names from the list of commenters and awarding each of them a $10 Amazon gift card. I’ve asked a series of five questions. Answer one or all five. Answer them all on one day or on consecutive days to get entries for the daily contests or the end of the hop contest. Only meaningful comments will be eligible. Feel free to comment on the comments left by others. We enjoy discussions here.
Be sure to visit the Black Velvet Seductions Facebook page and like us. I will be giving away a $10 gift card to someone who likes us between 10/19/2012 and 10/22/2012. Our Facebook page is here. Gain an extra entry into the Facebook contest by leaving a comment on the Facebook telling us what types of content you’d like to see on our Facebook page.
Be sure to bookmark our blog or add it to your reader so you can find your way back.
When you are finished here and on our Facebook page be sure to go back to http://carrieannbloghops.blogspot.com/p/the-alpha-male.html where you will find a list of the other blogs participating in this hop.
What Is It That Makes A Hero An Alpha?
Most of us who read romance seem to have an attraction to the alpha hero. By and large the majority of heroes are considered alpha. They are take charge men who are leaders in their worlds. They often own a company, act as CEO, or are at the top of their professions. They make decisions. They set courses. Alpha men are usually confident sexually and otherwise. Often they are charismatic. They inspire faith and confidence in the people around them. They are often protective of the women they love.
What additional traits would you ascribe to an alpha hero?
What do you see as the major differences between an alpha and a Dominant?
Is it possible for a hero to be too alpha?
